Magnificent carpets and carpet products created by the hands of Azerbaijani craftsmen adorn such major museums of the world as the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, the Louvre in Paris, Topkapi in Istanbul, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Textile Museum in Washington, the Museum of Azerbaijani Carpet and the Museum of the History of Azerbaijan in Baku. Historical sources have preserved numerous information about the highly developed carpet production in Azerbaijan and their export to developed countries.

Handmade carpets carry centuries-old traditions of artistic culture, embodied in images, symbols, and color combinations passed down from generation to generation.

And let handmade carpets never occupy that important and necessary place in every family, in every home, but the tradition of handmade art products decorating our interior, storing the warmth of human hands, must be preserved by us.

On November 16, 2010, the traditional art of Azerbaijani carpet making was included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Mankind.
